Hey Shin,

I don't know if anyone has contacted you yet, but I saw the beginnings
of an inking for the 300zx drawing posted on twinturbo.net a few days
ago that you are doing for me and others. Myself and others had noticed
that there is an inaccuracy in the wheels so I wanted to point this out so
that you could correct it before the artwork is finalized.

All Z's had directional wheels which had vent holes that directed air to
the brakes to cool them. It was quite a technical innovation for its time,
so a pretty important feature that all Z afficionados are aware of and will
notice. In your drawing the wheel vents are reversed and are going in
the wrong direction! The short "end" of the vent should be rotating
clockwise. Here is a pic of how they should look. (pic of the wheel on my
car was here)

I hope you are able to correct this before you are finished with the
drawing as I would hate to see such a quality piece of technical artwork
lessened by this inaccuracy.

Thanks,
Doug

Shin's reply:

Hello Doug

Thank you for your advice.
I found image of wheel from European and Japanese model.
I can not erase this ink and if I correct it,I has draw again.
Now I ask many people about this wheel, they said OK continually doing
it.

Some time I made same mistake with diff rent information
Example still I can not draw brake caliper, some picture show up with
cooling fins
other picture show up with out cooling fins.
I do not which is correct.

Doug please cancel your order.

Best Regards,
Shin Yoshikawa

I then emailed him again:

Shin,

The European, Japanese, American, and Australian cars all had the same
wheels. They are stamped with an L and R on them to indicate which side
of the car they go on. Not sure why someone gave you incorrect
information.

Also, the stock brake rotors did not have the slots or holes in them. They
were smooth. My car has Brembo rotors on it which is why you see them
in the pic I sent you.

I am a graphic designer and partner in a design firm so I am familiar
with creating original artwork. Can you do an overlay of just the wheel
area with the corrected wheel drawings that could be submitted to the
printer before the printer scans it and prints it? That way you would not
have to do the entire drawing over, just the wheel area. I could do that
digitally for you if you would like, but I'm sure your lithographer would
be able to do it as well. Let me know if I can help. Thanks.

Doug
